About company
Boge und Sohn KG was founded by Alfred Bogé in 1931 to manufacture hydraulic shock absorbers. The development brought success and in 1933 the design of shock absorbers was patented. Also in 1934, the company mastered the production of silent blocks, but now only service kits and shock absorber bearings are manufactured. In the late 80s and early 90s, Boge went through a series of transformations and a merger with Sachs, and then a takeover by ZF. Today, the full range of Boge consists of 6,000 items. Of these, about 4400 parts are shock absorbers. The rest is service kits (anthers and chippers), as well as upper supports for shock absorbers. The range is suitable for 95% of cars operating in Europe. Boge shock absorbers are produced in factories in Germany, France, the UK, Spain and the USA. They are ordered for installation on the conveyor by many automakers.
The Boge range includes several shock absorber series. All shock absorbers are manufactured using a number of technologies. Firstly, all rods are induction hardened, chrome plated and micropolished. Secondly, the rod seal has a special shape that provides friction reduction and has good resistance to high temperatures. Thirdly, oil is used inside the shock absorbers, which does not change its characteristics depending on changes in temperature. Fourth, the shape of the shock absorbers and the materials used reduce wear characteristics and provide a stable damping force. The Automatic series is a copy of those shock absorbers that are installed on your car on a factory conveyor. By design, they can be either gas or hydraulic (i.e. oil). They have different designs that are necessary for each specific car model. Provide a comfortable ride, and affordable price makes them very popular. Automatic hydraulic shock absorbers are designed for fans of comfort and provide reliable damping on all road surfaces. In turn, gas suits lovers of speed and control more. Also, gas shock absorbers can be either two-pipe or single-pipe. Turbo series has a talking name. These are exclusively gas shock absorbers for those car owners who want to make their car more “charged”. They can be made both with an additional lateral channel that changes rigidity, and in the version with more efficient work settings. They can be either single-pipe or double-pipe. The Turbo 24 series used to be called Extreme. This series features shock absorbers that can be installed on SUVs and sports cars. They can be adjusted independently by changing the position of the spring plate. Or use shock absorbers with a self-priming spring element. The latter can respond to the load by changing their own position.
The shock absorber mount (shock absorber support) Boge provides strength and performance to support the weight of the vehicle, and provides reliable control of the strut, preventing the entry of vibration and noise into the chassis. This part also provides better tire contact with the road and reduces braking distance for maximum safety. Using the Boge mounts together with shock absorbers, you can improve steering, comfort and safety.
Boge service kits provide an expanded range of accessories to help prepare the shock absorber for the challenges it will face every day on the go. Each service kit consists of an anther and a bump stopper that close the shock absorber rod, providing you exceptional performance and a long shock absorber life
