Koyo (Japan) was founded in 1921, when the first bearings were produced in Osaka. Today the company is one of the world's leading manufacturers of ball and roller bearings, lip seals, automotive steering mechanisms and sophisticated equipment. In terms of production volumes, the company is one of the five leaders in the world among bearing giants. Using the latest materials and the latest technological advances in its production, Koyo manufactures a wide range of hybrid ceramic and special bearings for a variety of extreme applications, such as vacuum or very high temperatures, to meet the increasingly demanding requirements of today's industries. Since 2006, bearings under the KOYO brand have been produced by JTEKT Corp., formed by the merger of Koyo Seiko Co. Ltd. and machine tool manufacturer Toyoda Machine Works. Company name JTEKT Corp. Derived from the first letter of the words "joint", "joy" (joy), "Japan" (Japan) and the ancient Greek word "tekton", meaning possession of excellent technical skills. The company's office is located in Osaka. All brands and trademarks of Koyo, the world's sixth largest bearing market, remain unchanged.
