The Castrol brand, founded by Charles Cheers Wakefield in 1899 in London, is today undoubtedly one of the most popular in the world.

C.C.Wakefield & Co began producing lubricants in 1909, launching its first product under the Castrol brand. Interestingly, the name comes from castor oil – a key component of the product at that time.
