Valeo, originally known as Société Anonyme Française de Ferodo, was founded in 1923 in Saint-Ouen, near Paris. Initially, the company specialized in selling brake pads and clutches under the license of Ferodo Ltd UK. In 1932, Valeo began diversifying its activities, starting the production of clutches, which remain one of the most important product groups to this day.

In the 1980s, the company was renamed Valeo, which means "I am well" in Latin. The company continues to develop in all directions: manufacturing parts for automakers, developing high-tech systems, and producing parts for car owners and garages in the aftermarket.

Valeo Group's business encompasses four main areas: comfort and driving assistance systems, transmission systems, thermal systems, and visibility systems. The distribution of parts is managed by Valeo Service, which supplies original parts to automakers and for the independent aftermarket.

Today, Valeo is actively working on solutions for electromobility, including solutions for electric bicycles, electric scooters, autonomous taxis, and other types of transport. The company aims to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050 and is a leader in France in terms of the number of patented innovations.
